I am the founder and CEO of Denise Blake Coaching. I am a Certified Health & Life Coach, Fitness Instructor Specialist, Certified Kickboxing Instructor, Healthy Eating & Weight Loss Coach, Registered Cardiology Technologist and Former Foster Youth.
I grew up in a small town on the east coast of Newfoundland, Canada. My childhood environment was very toxic. As a result I was removed from my home at age 13 and placed in an orphanage while I awaited placement for a foster home. I then went on to 2 foster homes and a group home before the age of 18.
I moved out on my own in my first year of college and went down a path of self-destructive behaviours, negative coping mechanisms, mostly toxic relationships and friendships and became a single mother at the age of 22 years old.
It wasn't until my late 30s that I started to notice a decline in my mental health. Although I had been a die hard fitness fanatic since high school, I never really gave much thought to the reasons why I was choosing to stay in relationships and friendships that were not good for me or why I was participating in unhealthy lifestyle choices. I never really gave much thought to it until I was ALONE. Alone in a tiny town surrounded by a community of strangers, and my son gone off to college living 12 hours away in the city I spent the better part of my life in.
That's when depression and anxiety crept in. It gradually became more and more unbearable as the years when on, until I finally had to do something about it. I went to see a psychologist (it took me several years to bring myself to do this, and if you live in a small town, you will understand exactly why there was such delay in getting to that point)
Why I Became A Certified Wellness Coach:
I was looking for a way to help myself become happier and healthier physically, mentally and emotionally and to help others do the same. Back in 2017, I decided that I needed to change a lot of things in my life. Declutter and detox, so to speak. I did an assessment on everything and everyone around me, looked inward and decided I needed to eliminate some of the "toxins" in my life.
Health and Life Coaching
I did some research and discovered Health and Life Coaching. I invested in a world renowned coaching program and dived into it head first. It was the best thing I ever did. It changed my mindset, my habits, my lifestyle and created a whole new outlook on the world around me and the life and purpose within me.
Now I own my own private coaching practice and help people all over the world. I empower women who are struggling with past trauma, body image, self-confidence, unhealthy lifestyles. Once they have realized that trauma and poor lifestyle habits have wreaked havoc on their body and mind, and they are ready for change, I help them change their relationship with food and their bodies. By doing so they are able to create healthy lifestyle changes that are attainable and sustainable.
Some of the ways we accomplish this is to:
- master the art of habit change in order to reach their optimal health
- lose weight permanently without fad diets and extreme workouts
- increase energy and say good-bye to fatigue naturally
- release toxins and discover food sensitivities
- manage stress and anxiety in healthy ways
- end the war with their body and mind through mindfulness and self-care
- love and appreciate their bodies unconditionally
I believe that the body and mind support one another and are both intertwined. Therefore, if the mind is out of alignment, then so is the body and vice versa.
As a health coach, I help my clients change their mindsets and teach them how to let go of limiting beliefs so they can live the beautiful life they deserve. Through a Transformational Coaching Methodology we touch on the BIG 5 areas of life including: Health, Money, Career, Relationships, That Which is Greater (whatever the belief system is)
When a client works with me in one of my 90 day coaching programs they ultimately build the knowledge and skills to:
- Know exactly how to stay grounded when things get intense
- overcome their obstacles, reach their goals, and change their lives
- attain the mechanisms to face their fears, deal with triggers and create deep and lasting transformation.
- shift their perspectives around the limiting beliefs and the stories they tell themselves to create habit change and take massive action towards a fulfilled, abundant, happy life

My motto is to LOVE YOURSELF HEALTHY. By that I mean that you need to have to have self-respect, a positive self-image, and unconditional self-acceptance in order to be healthy physically, emotionally, mentally. This cannot be accomplished if we are letting trauma, self-doubt, an old belief system we have about ourselves, or our worth dictate how we live or what we deserve in life. Self -love is a state of appreciation for oneself and we ALL deserve it!
My goal to bring together women and to build a community of individuals who want to become the happiest, most radiant and vibrant versions of themselves. Whether you struggle with self-esteem, body confidence, past trauma, anxiety, unhealthy habits, or anything that is stopping you from becoming who you want to be, I am here for you!
I am dedicated to providing a supportive and encouraging platform to women who need a little bit of tough love and an equal amount of empathy and compassion to help them help themselves.
As a former foster youth, | understand the complexities of being sent out into the world after aging out of care. I know what it is like to have to find your way entirely on your own with minimal resources.
It is not easy to know how to navigate this world being so young and having no choice but to be responsible for everything in the "real world" without the proper guidance.
A combination of my own life experiences, my coaching certifications, and education are what my coaching programs are made of. Together we bring you though several weeks of private one-on-one sessions where we dive deep into all the things that are needing to be nourished in your life. Then we devise a customized plan just for you! Together we build the skills you need to become self-sufficient, healthy and confident in reaching your life goals.
